Eleven minutes into 2022, Alvin was born at the Hospital in Elverum. He is the first child born in Norway in 2022.

The boy weighed 3,310 grams, Innlandet Hospital stated in a press release on Saturday.

As the clock approached midnight on New Year’s Eve, Elisabeth Osavi Aanonsen and Petter Bjørseth understood that the little boy would be born late in 2021 or early in 2022.

“I tried to hold back a bit so he wouldn’t be the youngest in his class in the years to come, and it went just right,” Elisabeth Osavi Aanonsen said.

She added that everything is fine with little Alvin, the parents, and Alvin’s big brother – four years old Pelle.

In 2021, the maternity ward at the hospital at Elverum registered 902 births. This is the first time the birth rate at the ward has exceeded 900 since 2012.

At Akershus University Hospital (Ahus), a boy was born 16 minutes past midnight, the communications department at the hospital informed NTB.
