King Harald

King Harald was sitting in the back seat when a black car drove out of Rikshospitalet on Monday.

In a brief press release, Norway’s Royal House confirmed that King Harald was discharged from the hospital.

The king was admitted on Friday morning due to heavy breathing

Later in the day, Queen Sonja stated that the king was doing well and would soon be back on his feet.

The Royal House announced on Friday that the king would be on sick leave this week, until October 4.

The king was scheduled to be present at the solemn opening of the 165th Norwegian parliament (Storting) on Friday, October 2.

However, Crown Prince Haakon will step in instead of the king, and Queen Sonja will also be present.

On Friday, both Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg and the leader of the Labor Party (AP) Jonas Gahr Støre wished King Harald a swift recovery.
