Seven people have been arrested and charged with preparing terrorist attacks in Denmark.

A major police operation was carried out in Zealand from February 6 to February 8, the Police Intelligence Service (PET) informs.

Seven people have been remanded in custody and charged with having planned or participated in attempted terrorist attacks.

The prosecution believes that the arrested have acquired weapons and ingredients for explosives – or contributed to the acquisition.

Another six people connected to the case will be produced for custody on Thursday.

Collaboration with German authorities

In addition, one person has been arrested in Germany.

The PET states that they have cooperated well with the German authorities in the investigation of the case.

The German prosecuting authority has also reported arrests in Denmark.

The prosecuting authority in the city of Naumburg states that an arrest warrant was issued this weekend for three men with a Syrian background.

Two of them were later arrested in Denmark. Chemicals are also said to have been seized.
