The terrorism threat level in Norway is moderate, but right-wing extremists and Islamist extremists still pose the greatest terrorist threat, according to the latest risk assessment.
The Police Security Service, the Intelligence Service, and the National Security Authority presented their public threat assessments on Friday.
“The PST considers it possible that right-wing extremists, as well as extreme Islamists, will try to carry out terrorist acts in 2022,” the PST’s report warns.
The PST believes it is unlikely that a person with anti-state convictions will attempt a terrorist act. It also finds it very unlikely that left-wing extremists and activists related to climate and environmental and nature conservation will attempt terrorist acts.
