Afghan employees who have worked for the Armed Forces in Afghanistan were transferred with their families to Norway on Monday.
Norway has decided to grant locally employed personnel for the Armed Forces and the embassy in Kabul residency.
The background for the decision is Norway’s and NATO’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, which could pose a danger to local workers.
“I am glad that we have now found practical solutions to this and that six local employees, interpreters, and cleaners – with their families – have been safely received in Norway,” Minister of Defense Frank Bakke-Jensen (H) said.
The employees are included in the quota for resettlement refugees.
