The clean-up work after the avalanche that hit the E134 at Haukeli on Wednesday morning started on Wednesday afternoon and will probably take a few days, according to Ole Petter Ruud at Vegtrafikksentralen sør.
“Due to bad weather, we will not get there until tomorrow afternoon, as far as I understand. Then we have to carry out the clean-up. We expect it to take a few days,” he noted.
The avalanche is said to have occurred near the Svandalsflona tunnel in Ullensvang Municipality.
On Wednesday evening, the E16 over Filefjell was open.
The other mountain crossings between the east and west in Southern Norway (Rv 7 Hardangervidda, Fv 50 Hol-Aurland, Fv Tyin-Årdal, Rv 13 Vikafjellet, Rv 15 Strynefjellet) were closed.
