In the last 24 hours, 1,180 corona infection cases have been registered in Norway. That is 523 more than the same day last week.
In the last seven days, an average of 796 corona infections has been registered per day. The corresponding average seven days ago was 447, so the trend is rising.
On Wednesday, 101 corona patients were hospitalized in Norway – five fewer than the day before.
According to the Norwegian Directorate of Health’s overview, thirty of the patients are in the intensive care unit, and among them, 16 are on a respirator.
Testing in Norway
As of midnight on Thursday night, 7.9 million corona tests had been performed in the country since February last year. A total of 203,734 people tested positive.
To date, 4,200,591 people in Norway have received the first dose of the corona vaccine, and 3,728,096 people have received the second dose.
A total of 900 corona-infected people have died in Norway since March 2020, preliminary figures show. It is not always possible to establish whether patients died of or with COVID-19.
