Around 50 people have traveled to the Civil War-torn Syria, and several of them have come back to Norway since New Year, according to the Police Security Service (PST). Information manager Martin Bernsen will not give any exact figures on the number of people who have returned to Norway from Syria, writes the newspaper Dagens Næringsliv. In Europe, the government expects that a total of 2,000 European Muslims have traveled to Syria to fight with militant Islamist organizations. One of those who have returned to Norway, is a 22-year-old from Fredrikstad who is accused of having been involved in a terrorist organization. Bernsen says that PST performs an assessment of all coming back. Then concrete measures may be adopted. He stressed that not everyone who has been in Syria, is automatically a threat to Norway.
