Lars Lagerbäck is not entirely sure about the road forward for Martin Ødegaard. The 21-year-old has only just begun training with Real Madrid again.
A photo showing the Norwegian training at the football club’s training facility on Monday has been published on their website.
Ødegaard has tested negative for Coronavirus and is. therefore able to train at the moment. All of Real’s players had to take a test Sunday.
Ødegaard’s next chance to play for Norway will be against Serbia the 8. October.
“He has had a long rehabilitation period. Towards the end of last week, he ran for the first time in a while. He did not strain his knee as in usual football play, but he’s feeling it out”, says Norwegian national team head coach Lars Lagerbäck.
Ødegaard has been struggling with a jumper’s knee for a while, and the situation is a little uncertain in regard to the weeks ahead.
This concerns both Real Madrid and the national team. Lagerbäck hopes that the decision to stand over several national games will pay off for Ødegaard later this fall.
