Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) and TV 2 have together secured the TV broadcasting rights for the men’s soccer World Cup in North America in six years.

The two channels will work together to show the next five major soccer championships for men (EUROs and World Cup).

Earlier this year, NRK and TV 2 bought the TV rights to the European Championships in 2024 and 2028.

“We are very much looking forward to being able to show the World Cup in the USA in 2026 on NRK and TV 2,” broadcasting director Thor Gjermund Eriksen and CEO and editor-in-chief Olav T. Sandnes of TV 2 said in a joint statement.

“This agreement ensures that our two public broadcasters will broadcast the best of championships to the widest possible audience for a long time to come,” Sandnes added.

The 2026 World Cup is divided between the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

60 matches will be played in the USA, and ten matches will be played in each of the other countries.
