Martin Ødegaard (20) scores highly on player ratings in Spain’s three biggest sports newspapers after Saturday’s win.

It came 2-0 at home against table leaders Atlético Madrid.

Marca, AS and Mundo Deportivo give the Norwegian the maximum score. The same goes for keeper Moyá and Mikel Oyarzabal.

Ødegaard scored his second goal of the season. It came from a shot that deflected off a defender. Not long after, he took the free kick that led to Nacho Monreal scoring in his first game since the move from Arsenal.

“It had to be Ødegaard who opened the box. It was he who had the key. He took hold of the game in the first half and had no intention of letting go of it,” writes Marca.

Real Sociedad are up to seven points after four games, three of them played away due to the upgrade of Anoeta Stadium.

After the match, Ødegaard said that “it was perhaps my biggest day on the football field.”

Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguacil to Marca: “We knew what Ødegaard could do when we signed him, but that he performs like this day after day is impressive.”

Ødegaard is loaned from Real Madrid for two seasons, but the agreement can be broken by both parties in the summer of 2020.
