Alpine competitor,Aksel Lund Svindal is out of play until further notice after injuring his thumb during a training session.
Svindal had to operate on his hand after ruining his thumb when he fell during super G training at Copper Mountain on Thursday.
He seems to be well after surgery, but wrote on his Instagram account that it is a small setback. It is uncertain when he can run again, but according to Svindal himself, it should be possible “in the near future”.
“Even though I’m a little worse,I’m not losing my start. It’s an option that works very well” said a positive note to NRK news.
The World Championship in the speed training starts next weekend in Lake Louise, and it is unclear whether Svindal can attend.
‘’He injured his thumb and was operated on, but this went well.He fell and stuck his thumb so he caught a ligament injury. This will be quite good again, but he will be home for a little while” said sports director Claus Ryste to Nettavisen newspaper.
