Ten new coronavirus infection cases have been registered in Fredrikstad in the last 24 hours.
All the new cases are close contacts to known cases, the Fredrikstad Municipality stated on Sunday.
There were six new cases on Friday, and municipal chief medical officer Anne Kristine Nitter was cautiously optimistic at the time.
“It is allowed to be optimistic now and think that we are in the process of beating down the outbreak that appeared in the wake of the Comet outbreak.
“However, we see that there are several minor outbreaks of the mutated virus here and in our neighboring municipalities, so we must continue to be alert,” Nitter said on Saturday.
