The Guardian newspaper ranked Martin Ødegaard as the world’s 74th best football player. He is just behind his Real Madrid teammate Luka Modric.
The English newspaper selects the world’s best players annually, and on Monday the first 30 players were announced.
Ødegaard is in 74th place, while Modric is in 71st place.
This is the first time Ødegaard has been included on The Guardian’s top 100 list.
Ødegaard is placed ahead of players such as Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City, 77th), Frenkie de Jong (Barcelona, 79th), and Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona, 81st).
Real Madrid striker Eden Hazard has struggled with injuries since the transfer from Chelsea and is in 83rd place.
Barcelona’s Lionel Messi topped last year’s list ahead of Liverpool players Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mané.
