Valdres is one of Norway’s most attractive winter destinations, and that also applies to trips into the back country. The season normally lasts from November/December to March/April, but it’s still possible to go cross-country skiing among Jotunheimen’s peaks in May to even June.

Popular starting points are the high mountain plateau Valdresflye (1389 m.a.s.l.) with the Rasletinden and Kalvehøgde massiv as primary tour destinations and the Tyin-Eidsbugarden region, where there’s heaps of shorter and longer, lower and higher summits and trips to choose from.
