Fewer visitors to Trolltunga this summer

40 percent fewer visitations to Trolltunga in Ullensvang in July this year compared to July last year.

So far in July, around 13,500 people have taken the trip, Hardanger Folkeblad reports.

– “The number of Norwegians taking this trip has increased significantly this year. There are very few foreign tourists, and it is a unique chance to experience nature with plenty of space and a smaller photo queue,” says general manager Åse Marie Evjen in Trolltunga AS.

Usually, around 90 percent of those who visit the famous destination are foreign tourists.

While the number of visitors has dropped, guided tours are popular. Last week, Trolltunga Adventures, which operates with this, broke its previous record.
