Foreign Ministry discourages travel to Hubei Province in China

The Foreign Ministry is advising Norwegians against travelling to Hubei Province in China because of the spread of the coronavirus, which has so far claimed 56 lives.

“Norwegian citizens traveling to China, including Hong Kong, should keep up with the news and be prepared for delays and other travel disruptions as a result of restrictions,’’ advised the Foreign Ministry.

The virus originated in Wuhan, Hubei Province. So far, 56 people have died and 1,975 people have been infected in mainland China.

Twenty cases of infection have also been detected in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau, as well as in Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Nepal, USA, Canada, France, and Australia.
