Norway is number two on Lonely Planet’s destination list for 2022, just behind the Cook Islands in the Pacific. Nature, wildlife and culture were determining factors.

“The essence of Norway’s appeal is remarkably simple: this is one of the most beautiful countries on earth,” London-based tourism magazine Lonely Planet wrote.

Globetrotter Gunnar Garfors is not surprised by Norway’s place on the list, which also includes Malawi, Mauritius, Belize, Anguilla, Oman, Nepal, Egypt, and Slovakia.

“Wild, beautiful, and adventurously spectacular nature never goes out of date and ensures Norway’s relevance as an attractive destination in all future,” Garfors said to Aftenposten.
