Norwegian’s direct route between Oslo and Istanbul has been a summer route for several seasons, with two weekly departures, but now it has come to an end.
– Due to significantly lower interest for travel to Turkey, we have chosen not to offer  any Oslo-Istanbul flights this summer, communications director Lasse Sandakerveien-Nielsen in Norwegian says to the newspaper Bergens Tidende.
Both the airline and several charter company will be reducing their capacity this summer.
– We’re still flying to Antalya in Turkey from several Norwegian cities, but we have experienced that interest is not as high as before for those flights as well, saying Sandakerveien-Nielsen.

The country’s largest tour operator Ving, has halved their Turkey-capacity this season.
– We still selling holidays to Turkey but not at the same pace as in recent years. This probably that many of our guests have found  that the major cities in the interior that have been the ones most affected and that the tourist towns located along the coast have been less affected, CIO Elisabeth Larsen Vonstett in Ving says.
