Norwegian tourists stranded on Gran Canaria – flights canceled

Norwegians stranded on Gran Canaria due to bad weather probably won’t find their way home until Monday. SAS and Norwegian have canceled all departures to and from the holiday island.

More than 2,000 Norwegians are stranded on the Canary Islands, according to NRK.

The reason is a sandstorm that closed airports on both Gran Canaria and Tenerife on Saturday. A new sandstorm swept across Gran Canaria on Sunday.
