The number of domestic trips between July and September more than doubled compared to last year. Travel abroad fell dramatically.

The travel restrictions related to travel abroad led Norwegians to holiday in Norway during the aforementioned months, according to figures from Statistics Norway (SSB).

95% of all travel was domestic. Typically, this proportion has been about 60%.

Around 300,000 trips abroad were made, which is a decrease of 88% compared to last year.

At the same time, the increase in domestic travel, from 2.6 to 5.8 million, increased the total number of holiday trips from last year.
