Only 17 percent of those surveyed by the Norwegian Corona Monitor say that they will fly domestically for the rest of 2020. On the other hand, only 8 percent plan to travel abroad.

64 percent of those asked in September answered that they will not fly domestically for the rest of the year, while 19 percent answer that they do not know yet. Norwegian corona monitor from Opinion has asked 1,331 people about their travel habits with domestic flights.

Northern Norway is the part of the country where people have the highest expectations of flying domestically, where only 28 per cent answer that they expect to fly. Men expect to fly a little more than women, and it is those under 30 who have the highest expectations of flying domestically.

“The aviation industry is on the ground when it comes to foreign travel, but these figures show that domestic flights will also be the exception rather than the norm for most people in the future”, says senior adviser Nora Clausen in Opinion.

The survey also asked 8,422 people if they plan to travel abroad during the year. Here, only 8 percent answer yes. As many as 84 percent answers that they will not travel abroad before the New Year.
