– It is perfectly safe to plan for a Norwegian holiday, emphasized Justice Minister Monica Mæland (Høyre) at Monday’s press conference.

“Everything else is less safe, but it is very safe to plan for a Norwegian holiday,” she said.

Mæland said that the government also wants to have free movement within the EEA, but there are currently restrictions since there are differences in spread of infection and development in society.

“This is an ongoing assessment,” she said.

Health Minister Bent Høie (Høyre) also used the occasion at the press conference on Monday to emphasize that the advice to avoid unnecessary leisure trips no longer applies.

The government will come back with more advice for holiday and leisure travel before long, according to the Minister of Health.

“We understand that people need leisure travel, and we will come back with some good advice,” he said.
