Several hotels state that they have received cancellations from Chinese guests following the outbreak of the corona virus, reports E24.

Hotel manager Claus Petersen at Scandic Fornebu tells the online newspaper that several groups have canceled their reservations.

– “Four out of six groups have now canceled with the virus as an explanation,” he says.

Innovation Norway states that they have spoken to several companies that have received cancellations due to outbreaks in China and virus fears, but that the financial loss is not so great so far.

However, if the Chinese quarantine continues, the organization warns that it could have consequences for Norwegian tourism companies.

– “If this continues to go beyond the summer traffic, then there are some companies, such as hotels and guides, that have little to do,” Ingunn Sakshaug, market specialist for Asia and new markets in Innovation Norway, tells E24.
