This Friday, the stair bridge will open, which will make it possible to walk over the 182-meter-high Vøringsfossen waterfall in Eidfjord municipality in Western Norway.

The new bridge connects Fossetromma and Fossli and was built as part of the National Tourist Routes project where untraditional architecture is often combined with beautiful nature.

Two years ago, the first construction phase in Vøringsfossen was completed. At Fossli hotel, viewing platforms, toilet buildings, stairs and fences were built.

The stair bridge was assembled in seven parts, has a span of 47 meters and a height difference of 16 meters. It was designed by architect Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk and has 99 steps.
