If you arrived in Spain before the country turned red, travel insurance still applies. This is the message from the largest Norwegian insurance companies.
“It is the condition when leaving Norway that applies,” says Communications Manager Ole Irgens at Tryg Forsikring.
On Friday, it was announced that Spain will again be described as “red,” and everyone who arrives in Norway from the country after midnight on Friday night will have to be quarantined for ten days.
Tryg, Gjensidige and Europiske all state that Norwegians who are in Spain at midnight will still have valid travel insurance.
Gjensidige emphasizes in a press release that they do not cover changed travel plans.
– For example, if you want to rebook your trip to avoid the quarantine obligation, it must be paid from your own pocket, they say.
