The Tromsø Cable Car has been upgraded and will be opened again April 16 with a new drive system, new gondolas, also will be accessible for the wheelchairs. The new gondolas are still decorated with pictures of a seal and polar bear to symbolize how the cable car was initially financed and built. Welcome back to the new Cable Car!

This popular tourist attraction, which is visited by around 118,000 guests per year, takes you up to Mt Storsteinen on Fløya (421 m above sea level). The viewing platform at the top station offers panoramic views of Tromsø and the surrounding islands and fjords. The cable car is an excellent starting point for various hikes into the mountains, including to the summit of the majestic mountain Tromsdalstinden (1238 m above sea level). The cable car also offers excellent opportunities to experience the Northern Lights during the period from September to March. Read more about TROMSØ CABLE CAR OPENS AGAIN ON SATURDAY APRIL 16
