During five days of coalition talks, it was clear that the Center Party (SP) would insist on its policy priorities, SP leader Trygve Slagsvold Vedum said on Wednesday.

“With the way the talks have gone, I think it became more and more clear that the Center Party would have an impact on the policy that we wanted to affect through the elections,” Vedum said on Wednesday.

Vedum made the statement just after it became clear that the Socialist Left Party (SV) was withdrawing from the talks.

“When it came down to it, the political distances became too great for them to want to continue.

“It was their choice,” Vedum stated. Throughout the election campaign, Vedum insisted that he wanted an AP/SP government.
