Infants from Asia and Africa cry differently than European babies, according to two studies from the University of Wurzburg in Germany.

The weeping of infants from China and Cameroon is more melodic, according to studies.
– It sounds more like humming, says linguist Kathleen Wermke to the newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

For example, because the pitch is different in Mandarin Chinese language than the German language, in terms of syllables.

The researchers conclude that babies take to themselves the cornerstones of language immediately after birth. Even as a fetus can they recognize language tunes.

55 babies from China’s capital Peking were observed, along with 21 infants from Nsofoket in northwest Cameroon.
