29 percent in a sample of admitted Coronavirus patients had obesity as a risk factor, according to figures from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH).
According to Dagsavisen, the figure, which is taken from the Norwegian intensive care and pandemic register, appears in the weekly report from FHI in week 29.
It is based on a sample of 482 patients who had information on body mass index (BMI).
– “The Coronavirus epidemic shows the connection between infectious diseases, such as Covid-19, and non-communicable diseases such as overweight and obesity,” says Knut-Inge Klepp, area director for mental and physical health at FHI.
