Norwegian Tik Tok strikes again: Millions of people worldwide are fascinated by life on Svalbard

Again capturing global attention is Norwegian Tik Tok.

Multiple Tik Toks of Svalbard, which is currently undergoing its 24-hours-of-darkness polar night phenomenon, have gone viral recently.

Recorded by user Cecilia Blomdahl (@sejsejlija), three particular videos have collectively captivated almost 10 million viewers over the past week.

The first has 1 million views and over 11k comments and shows what the polar night in Svalbard is like. Here are a few of the comments:

“This is like another planet”

“i’m so lazy i would probably just sleep all day”

“Just casually mentions the Northern lights….then ends with “those could be polar bear tracks””

“Do you know Santa”

The second video has almost 300K views and over 4k comments and shows what life is like in the center of Longyearbyen, Svalbard‘s major town. Here are a few of the comments:

“Looks lovely .. But I’ll visit in the summer.”

The third video has 55K views and over 1k comments. It explains what Svalbard’s Global Seed Vault is. Here are a few of the comments:
