Severe decline in infectious diseases
The Coronavirus measures cause very few cases of other infectious diseases to be reported.
In the first half of June, 385 cases of infectious diseases other than Covid-19 were reported. In the same period last year, the number was 1,084, according to statistics from the Communicable Diseases Reporting System (MSIS).
The decline is mainly due to the fact that Norwegians do not bring diseases from abroad now. The decline is greatest for food and waterborne illnesses.
