Between 1 and 15 May, 331 cases of infectious diseases other than Covid-19 were reported – a decrease of 61 per cent compared to the same time last year.
This is stated in the report to the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) in the Reporting System for Infectious Diseases (MSIS).
“We see a decline for all disease groups, especially after the introduction of social distance measures in early March,”
said the report.
Among the results, food and waterborne illnesses have been reduced by 77 per cent, gonorrhea cases have decreased by 60 per cent, and vaccine preventable diseases have decreased by 86 per cent.
