One in five Norwegians has had less sex during the pandemic, a new survey shows. The main cause, according to the respondents? The corona restrictions.
The information was revealed in a Norstat survey on Norwegians’ sex lives, commissioned by Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).
A total of 22% of respondents answered that they had less sex during the pandemic, and the decline applies to both singles and those in a relationship.
Furthermore, 35% of the singles stated that they had less sex, while 17% of people in a relationship reported the same.
Main causes
Corona restrictions, a smaller sex drive, and psychological influences are among the most common causes listed by respondents.
However, a lot of Norwegians didn’t notice the impact of corona restrictions on their sex life. A total of 60% stated that they are having as much sex as before – and that this was the case even during the pandemic.
A lucky minority of Norwegians, 6%, stated that their sex life had gained momentum in the face of the corona restrictions, NTB reports.
