Nav received 11,900 unemployment benefits on Monday. 10,000 of these were due to being temporarily laid off.

Since 12 March, 318,300 unemployment benefit applications have been received. 288,700 of these were due to being temporarily laid off, reports Nav.

In comparison, Nav received 160,500 unemployment benefit applications throughout 2019 and 166,600 in 2018.

On Monday, Nav also opened so that both temporarily laid-off and unemployed people can apply for advance unemployment benefits. Over 20,000 have applied for this, which entails payments totaling 327 million kroner.

The advance will be slightly lower than what Nav assumes will be paid in unemployment benefit, and will be offset for one month.
