The volume of bankcard payments is on its way back to normal, having been at record levels throughout the summer, according to Nets.

A total of 185.2 million card transactions were made in Norway in August. That is 3.7 percent less than in the same month last year. Norwegian companies had a total turnover with payment cards of NOK 64.3 billion, which corresponds to a growth of 2.8 percent.

In June and July, Norwegian companies experienced a marked increase in Norwegian activity, and at the same time card consumption increased by record-breaking growth rates. The increase in card use is seen in connection with the fact that most Norwegians holidayed domestically this year.
