The price of electricity per kilowatt-hour in Central Norway was below 70 øre in December, according to Tensio. Thus, customers in Trøndelag will not receive state support for paying their electricity bills in December.

The agreement between the Norwegian government parties and the Socialist Left Party (SV) states that the state is to cover 55% of the bill when the average market rate for electricity exceeds 70 øre per kilowatt-hour for one month. The scheme applies from December to March.

But in the Central Norway price area, called N03, the electricity price was below 70 øre in December.

Thus, electricity support will not cover customers in Trøndelag for the bills that will be sent out this January, Grete Øwre at Tensio warned.

Preparations

“In Tensio, we have everything ready to be able to pay electricity support to customers in Trøndelag if it becomes relevant,” she said.

She added that electricity support might be paid out in February if the prices in January exceed 70 øre per kilowatt-hour.

“When it becomes relevant to pay out electricity support, the support will appear as a separate line on the invoice.”

In Southern Norway, on the other hand, prices have been higher, so the state will cover part of the bill for December.
