Norwegian companies have been paid a total of NOK 12.8 billion in corona compensation, according to figures P4 has collected from the Brønnøysund register and the Tax Administration.
The Tax Administration, which was responsible for the compensation scheme in the first year of the pandemic, approved applications for approximately NOK 6.5 billion of compensation.
This year, the Brønnøysund register receives compensation applications. It has so far paid out NOK 6.34 billion to companies.
A total of 62,000 companies have received corona compensation in Norway. Most companies that have received compensation are in the accommodation and restaurant business.
