You must be prepared to wait up to six weeks before you receive compensation for lost ticket money during the train driver’s strike.

This will probably affect thousands of rail passengers who applied for refunds after the nearly five-week strike, reported the newspaper Østlandets Blad.

In total, tens of thousands of passengers were affected. The conflict had a particularly bad affect on Østfoldbanen.

But those who applied to get expenses covered for tickets that weren’t used will wait almost as long to receive the money that the strike itself lasted.

The wait for a refund will be between four to six weeks, estimates NSB.

Anyone whose ticket was affected by the strike will receive cash for the period it was affected.

If you purchased a new monthly ticket on strike’s last day, you do not receive a refund for the entire card.

Those in Østfoldbanen who used a Ruter ticket for the bus instead, won’t get a refund on the ticket for that day, said press officer Gina Scholz of NSB.
