11,000 rang corona phone lines in six days

Over six days, 11,000 inquiries were made to the information service created to relieve the health care system.

27 people answer the phones which are not linked to danger to life and health. The Directorate of Health stated on Friday that there is still great pressure on the emergency services and on emergency number 113.

The information phone line, which is run by Helfo in Tønsberg, provides answers to general questions about the coronavirus. It does not offer individual advice to callers.

Head of department Heidi Kvaal Djupvik at Helfo tells NRK that the many calls tell us that there is a need for the service and that they can help to assure the people.
