Ålesund and Sola are introducing new local corona regulations on Saturday.

Among other things, it will be mandatory to go into quarantine if you live with a person who has been diagnosed with coronavirus.

The quarantine applies to fully vaccinated, partially vaccinated, and unvaccinated people of all ages.

At the same time, requirements are introduced for face masks indoors where it is not possible to keep a distance of one meter. If you take a taxi, you must also wear a face mask, and the same applies to the taxi driver.

The obligation to wear a face mask does not apply to children under the age of 12 or to those who cannot wear a face mask for medical or other reasons.

The regulations will enter into force at noon, the municipalities stated in a press release on Saturday.

“In recent weeks, we have had very high infection rates in Ålesund. We see that we must take measures to prevent pressure on our health services, and to prevent the spread of infection until Christmas,” Mayor Eva Vinje Aurdal stated.

The regulations will apply until December 3.
