The sales of drones heavier than one kilo have now exceeded 35,000 in Norway. That’s just the start,  the trade association for unmanned aircraft says.

– More than 35,000 drones have been sold in Norway since 2009. This is documented figures from importers and only include drones weighing more than one kilogram, so it does not include toy gadgets,  Anders Martinsen says.

He is the leader of the industry organisation for unmanned aircraft, UAS Norway. They have over 800 members, all of them commercial operators. In addition, the market for hobby operators has exploded. Everyone and everything from private individuals to large professional companies use drones to data collection and documentation.

Multiple other areas of application are being developed. In addition to taking nice pictures from the air  drones may in the future be able to do everything from emergency aid  to making purchases  on our behalff.
