Four people have been sent to the hospital after a leisure boat ran aground in Grimo in Hardanger on Saturday night. Police suspect high speed and drunk driving caused the accident.
“A boat ran ashore. There were four people on board, and all were aware of the accident,” operations manager Tatjana Knappen in the Western Police District told news bureau NTB early on Saturday morning.
The police were notified of the incident at 3:45 AM.
Three of the four people were taken to the hospital in Odda, while the fourth was transported to Haukeland University Hospital by air ambulance.
In a press release at 10 o’clock, the police stated that they don’t know the extent of the injuries of the persons involved.
“Based on information on the spot, the police suspect that the boat drove at high speed and that alcohol may have been involved,” operations manager Eivind Hellesund concluded.
