The nearly seven-kilometer-long Frudal tunnel in Sogndal is closed after a motorhome caught fire inside the tunnel. No one was injured, according to police.

The police were notified of the fire just before 1:00 PM on Wednesday.

The motorhome caught fire about four kilometers inside the tunnel from the Sogndal side, the police told news bureau NTB.

The fire started in the motorhome’s engine, but the owner quickly extinguished it with a fire extinguisher.

No injuries reported

The fire brigade entered the nearly seven-kilometer-long tunnel, which was filled with some smoke. There, they found five people.

No one was injured, but two people were checked by health personnel on the spot.

Both the Frudal tunnel and the Berg tunnel are closed for the time being, and there are long queues.
