A new outbreak of bird flu has been discovered among hens in Jæren. This is the second outbreak in a week.
Lise Petterson, a regional director at the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, confirmed the information, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) reports.
“We have closed the property. And we are now working on getting a decision from the farmer on the destruction, termination, and decontamination of the animals,” Petterson told NRK.
A total of 7,500 hens on the property must be terminated and destroyed.
