A record number of new corona cases was registered in Trondheim on Thursday – 1,160 cases.
The previous daily infection record was set on Wednesday this week with 747 cases.
“The number of positive cases is constantly increasing, and we will probably see new infection records in the future as well,” municipal chief medical officer Tove Røsstad in Trondheim Municipality told NTB.
Out of the total, 333 infected people are in the 10-20 age group, while 261 are in their 20s. Only 27 of the infected are over 60 years old, according to the Municipality.
According to the newspaper Nidaros, 1,000 new cases of infection have already been registered on Friday.
Twenty-three patients have been admitted to St. Olav’s hospital with COVID-19. Two of them are in intensive care and on respirators.
