A total of 50 schools have been damaged in Israel’s attack on the Gaza Strip, according to Save the Children. The organization calls on the parties to the conflict to immediately stop attacks on schools.

Many of the schools in the Palestinian territories have been turned into shelters for people who no longer dare to be in their homes.

“Unfortunately, the number of schools being destroyed shows that even there, it is not possible to hide,” Jason Lee, Save the Children’s country director for the occupied Palestinian territories, said.

A total of 47,000 people in the Gaza Strip have sought refuge in schools, according to the UN organization UNRWA.

Save the Children points out that three schools in Israel are said to have been damaged in the rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip.

The organization asks all parties to the conflict to follow international law and immediately stop attacks on schools.
