In 2012, two men were shot in a nightclub in Oslo, and one was stabbed. Next week, a 33-year-old man will appear before the Court of Appeal on charges of three attempted murders.

In February, the man was sentenced to 11 years in prison in the Oslo District Court. The verdict has been appealed, and on Tuesday 1 September, the appeal case will start at the Court of Appeal in Borgarting.

The incident took place at the Crystal Club in Møllergata in Oslo on the evening of 5 July 2012. Two of the victims were shot in the arm and chest by a pistol, but the two of them and the man who was knifed in the stomach survived.

The now accused man fled Norway shortly after the incident and became an international wanted felon.

Six years later, in August 2018, he was arrested at Oslo airport when he arrived in Norway after staying abroad. As the police had had contact with him, he returned voluntarily. According to the lawyer of the accused at that time, he had spent some time in Somalia, but he came to Norway from Dubai.

The man has admitted the events but believes that he acted in self-defense and did not try to commit murder.

In addition, he is accused of having stored 48 grams of heroin.

An appeal has been set aside for eight days.
