In parts of Norway, the winter holidays begin on Monday, but at the same time, there is a significant risk of avalanches in several places in the country.
The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) has issued an orange danger warning (significant avalanche danger) for Monday.
The affected areas include Trollheimen, Romsdal, Sunnmøre, Indre Fjordane, Voss, and Hardanger.
The Norwegian Meteorological Institute recommends that people be cautious when traveling in avalanche terrain.
It is generally recommended to avoid avalanche terrain. Avalanches can hit avalanche-prone roads and, at times, buildings.
