A 30 year old man is sentenced to six years in prison for a rape in Voss in December 2014 by  the  Gulating Court of Appeal.

After being rejected by the woman, he followed her and then dragged her 75 meters away to a walkway before the rape took place, newspaper Bergens Tidende.  The 30-year-old threatened the woman with her life before he raped her.
The man testified that he heard voices in his head that gave commands to him, according to the verdict.  The Gulating Court of Appeal describes the rape as brutal, and writes that it was a pure assault rape which included physical violence of a certain duration and intensity.
The 30-year-old man has been hospitalized for mental problems several times since he came to Norway in 2008 as a refugee from Eritrea, but the court ruled that he was not psychotic when he raped the woman.
He has previously been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and also has been diagnosed as  an alcoholic.
The man has partially admitted guilt.
